Our Story<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 2020,  Christians left the prevailing church structures to seed a grassroots movement that is emerging in the southeast cities of Chattanooga, TN  & Atlanta, Ga.  The curators of Redpoint organized a local meetup that would soon become the gathering space for anyone looking for deeper relationships and a more authentic experience with the Church without being confined to a particular building or form. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our first public encounters came at a time during the pandemic when the only people meeting in person were yogis and outdoorsmen.  We aimed to be faithful to the words we believe the Lord spoke in October 2019, just before COVID hit the U.S. – \u201cBe ready to receive whoever I send\u201d.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were already investing in our neighbors’ lives, sowing into those who were disconnected and disapproving of the institutional church,  struggling through new seasons of life, or living as orphans on the streets. We felt called to deepen the culture of the church and support everyday people who make the vulnerable leap towards the cause Jesus left his closest followers – compassion. Ordinary people who, like us, would flounder and perish unseen and unsupported by a modern ministry framework that centers on organizational participation instead of the organic pursuit of an individual’s own call to follow Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our name is a tribute to the rocky landscape Jesus and his chosen people navigated as the Gospel unfolded over 2000 years ago. Because Redpointing is characterized by sacrificial faith in the face of danger, uncertainty, and even the threat of death. To us, the name mirrors what it means to pursue the will of God. It\u2019s being uncomfortable and vulnerable while leading others on a path that may very well be uncharted in your own life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of today, Redpoint has become a blended family of friends from the original meeting and a local church named Gracebridge, which closed its doors in September 2022. As we seek God to reform the church, we aim to send great communicators of the Gospel out into the world and be a safe space for people to explore and renew their faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
